This Design/Build project involved the demolition of one school and the addition of 2 separate schools on the same site. Due to extreme site restraints, both schools have been designed to share HVAC, water distribution, storm water systems and kitchen accommodations. Indian Ridge K-12 School - This 75,000sf, single story building was designed with steel framing and concrete tilt wall structure accommodating 253 student stations. Divided into 3 quadrants to accommodate emotionally handicapped elementary, middle and high school students, this special school includes medical facilities, therapy spaces, administration offices, classrooms, resource rooms and skill labs. Turning Points 6-12 Academy - This 73,000sf, compact, two-story tilt-wall structure is divided into 6 quadrants with support education spaces dispersed throughout the building. This design offered flexibility in customizing interior spaces through its simple concrete column and PSI structural system. Project Highlights: * $293,000 Returned DMP Savings * 15% Minority Subcontractor Participation
