Morganti as Construction Administrator for the State of Connecticut manged the construction of the new Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center at Quinebaug Community College. This 10,000 sf building addition includes classrooms, offices, conference rooms, a 5,000 sf machine shop/lab, a 1,100 sf mechatronics lab, a 900 sf metrology lab, IT and mechanical rooms and a tool crib. Sustainable building highlights include a geo-thermal HVAC system, natural daylighting, highly insulated wall and roof panels, energy recovery units, recycled, regional and low VOC materials, reflective roof, energy efficient lighting and on-site water management. This project has been designed and constructed to meet a LEED Silver certification level. Morganti worked collaboratively during pre-construction to budget and develop sustainable design aspects for high efficiency MEP equipment, recycled and local materials, indoor air quality and commissioning requirements.
