Contract Awarded for Sewer Cleaning

The New England Pipe Cleaning Co. has been hired by the Board of Selectmen to clean sewer lines on West Lane, High Ridge, King Lane, Parley Lane, Peaceable Street, Catoonah Street and Abbott Avenue, according to Leo F. Carroll, first selectman.
This is in line with the selectmen's program of cleaning a part of the sewer system each year.
Morganti, Inc. this week will install a new sewer line off of Main Street, which runs through the property of Dr. Peter Yanity. Henrici Associates has prepared a sewer line map for the selectmen, and the work will start Tuesday. Trouble was experienced in this section during the past winter.
Carroll pointed out that this will be the first replacement since the sewer system was first installed in 1903. All the work late that time was done by hand.
Primo Polverari has been hired to rebuild the vaults at the exposure gardens, where new gate valves are also being replaced.
